Hawiya is the digital identity foundation of the Palestinian people. Built as part of the Digital Palestine initiative, Hawiya exists to provide Palestinians everywhere with a trusted, secure, and independent way to establish their digital presence and participate in a shared Palestinian future.
For generations, Palestinians have carried their identity across borders, continents, and decades of displacement. Yet despite being one of the world's largest diasporas, we still lack a common digital identity that belongs to us. Hawiya was created to help change that.
It is designed to become a trusted identity layer that allows Palestinians to connect with communities, institutions, services, and future generations through a shared digital infrastructure built for the Palestinian people.
Hawiya is not a social network, a government, or a political organization. It is a foundation — upon which future Palestinian digital services, institutions, archives, communities, and economic systems can be built.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that every Palestinian, wherever they may be, can hold a trusted place within a shared digital future.

على امتداد أجيال، حمل الفلسطيني هويته معه أينما ذهب. عبر المنافي والحدود والبحار، ظل يحمل اسم قريته، وذاكرة عائلته، وانتماءه إلى أرضه. ورغم عقود من التهجير والشتات، بقيت الهوية الفلسطينية حاضرة في الوجدان، تنتقل من جيل إلى جيل، وتحفظ ما عجزت الجغرافيا عن حفظه.
لكن بينما دخل العالم عصره الرقمي، بقي الفلسطينيون، كغيرهم من الشعوب المشتتة، بلا هوية رقمية مشتركة تعكس وجودهم وتربط أبناءهم ومؤسساتهم ومستقبلهم ببعضهم البعض. من هنا وُلدت هويّة، مبادرة متكاملة مع فلسطين الرقمية.
هويّة هي الأساس الرقمي للهوية الفلسطينية، وجزء من مبادرة فلسطين الرقمية الهادفة إلى بناء البنية التحتية الرقمية الأولى للشعب الفلسطيني. وُجدت لتمنح الفلسطينيين حول العالم وسيلة موثوقة وآمنة ومستقلة لإثبات هويتهم الرقمية، والتواصل مع مجتمعاتهم ومؤسساتهم، والمشاركة في بناء مستقبل فلسطيني مشترك.
صُممت هويّة لتكون أساساً للثقة الرقمية الفلسطينية؛ أساساً يربط الإنسان الفلسطيني بمجتمعه، ويربط المجتمعات بمؤسساتها، ويربط الحاضر بالماضي والمستقبل. هويّة ليست شبكة اجتماعية، وليست حكومة، وليست منظمة سياسية. إنها أساس.
أساس يمكن أن تُبنى عليه الخدمات الرقمية الفلسطينية، والمؤسسات، والأرشيفات، والمبادرات الاقتصادية، وغيرها من الأدوات التي يحتاجها الفلسطينيون ليبقوا متصلين ببعضهم البعض. مهمتنا بسيطة: أن نضمن لكل فلسطيني، أينما كان، مكاناً موثوقاً له في المستقبل الرقمي الفلسطيني.

Our vision is to establish a trusted and sovereign digital identity system for Palestinians worldwide. In an era where digital identity has become the gateway to services, institutions, opportunities, and communities, owning digital identity infrastructure is no longer a luxury — it is a necessity for participation, continuity, and resilience in the modern world.
Yet despite being a global nation of more than 15 million people, Palestinians still lack a shared digital identity system that they collectively own and govern. Decades of occupation, displacement, and fragmentation have left Palestinians without a common digital foundation capable of serving them across borders and generations. This is why Hawiya was created.
We envision a future where every Palestinian, wherever they may be, can hold a secure, trusted, and recognized digital identity that enables them to participate in a shared Palestinian digital space and connect with their communities, institutions, and future. Over time, Hawiya will become a cornerstone of Palestinian digital trust — connecting individuals, institutions, communities, archives, services, and future digital systems through a common framework of identity, trust, and belonging.
Built on open standards, privacy-by-design principles, and sovereign infrastructure, Hawiya is designed to become a long-term digital asset for the Palestinian people — one that can serve future generations and help preserve Palestinian digital continuity regardless of geography, borders, or political circumstances.
Our goal is not to create another login system. Our goal is to help build the digital foundations that Palestinians need to remain connected, collaborate, organize, and participate in shaping their shared future. We are not simply building a digital identity — we are laying the foundation for a more connected, resilient, and enduring Palestinian digital future.

نطمح إلى بناء منظومة هوية رقمية موثوقة وسيادية للفلسطينيين حول العالم. ففي عصر أصبحت فيه الهوية الرقمية بوابة الوصول إلى الخدمات والمؤسسات والفرص والمجتمعات، لم يعد امتلاك بنية تحتية رقمية للهوية رفاهية، بل ضرورة من ضرورات الحضور والاستمرارية في العالم الحديث.
ورغم أن الفلسطينيين يشكلون أمة عالمية يزيد عدد أبنائها على خمسة عشر مليون إنسان، منتشرين في مختلف أنحاء العالم، إلا أنهم ما زالوا يفتقرون إلى منظومة هوية رقمية مشتركة يمتلكونها ويديرونها بأنفسهم، في ظل واقع سياسي معقد فرضه الاحتلال والتشتت لعقود طويلة. من هنا جاءت هويّة.
رؤيتنا هي أن يتمكن كل فلسطيني، أينما كان، من امتلاك هوية رقمية آمنة وموثوقة ومعترف بها، تتيح له المشاركة في فضاء رقمي فلسطيني مشترك، وتمنحه القدرة على التواصل مع مجتمعه ومؤسساته ومستقبله. ومع مرور الوقت، ستصبح هويّة أساس الثقة الرقمية الفلسطينية؛ الرابط الذي يجمع الأفراد والمؤسسات والمجتمعات والأرشيفات والخدمات والمنظومات الرقمية المستقبلية ضمن إطار موحد للهوية والثقة والانتماء.
وتقوم هويّة على المعايير المفتوحة، والخصوصية منذ التصميم، والبنية التحتية السيادية، لتكون أصلاً رقمياً طويل الأمد للشعب الفلسطيني، قادراً على خدمة الأجيال القادمة وحماية استمرارية حضورها الرقمي، بغض النظر عن الجغرافيا أو الحدود أو الظروف السياسية.
هدفنا ليس إنشاء نظام تسجيل دخول آخر. هدفنا هو المساهمة في بناء الأساسات الرقمية التي يحتاجها الفلسطينيون ليبقوا متصلين ببعضهم البعض، وقادرين على التعاون والتنظيم والمشاركة في بناء مستقبلهم المشترك. إننا لا نبني مجرد هوية رقمية، بل نضع حجر الأساس لمستقبل رقمي فلسطيني أكثر ترابطاً وقدرة على الصمود والاستمرار.

Identity is the foundation upon which people connect, institutions operate, communities organize, and nations preserve continuity across generations.
For decades, Palestinians have remained connected through memory, culture, family, and a shared sense of belonging. Yet in an increasingly digital world, much of our collective presence exists on platforms, systems, and infrastructures that we do not own and do not control.
As more aspects of life move online, the ability to participate through trusted digital identity becomes increasingly important. Without a shared digital foundation, communities become fragmented, institutions remain disconnected, and future generations inherit fewer tools with which to preserve and strengthen their collective identity.
Hawiya exists to help address this challenge. By providing a trusted and independent digital identity system, Hawiya creates a foundation through which Palestinians can connect with communities, engage with institutions, access future services, contribute to shared knowledge, and participate in a growing Palestinian digital ecosystem.
It is not simply about technology. It is about continuity — ensuring that Palestinians have the tools to remain connected to one another, wherever they may be, and to build a future that is shared, resilient, and their own. Because in the digital age, identity is not only how we prove who we are. It is how we participate, belong, and endure.

الهوية أكثر من مجرد وثيقة. إنها الأساس الذي يتواصل من خلاله الناس، وتعمل عبره المؤسسات, وتنتظم حوله المجتمعات، وتحافظ الأمم بفضله على استمراريتها عبر الأجيال.
على مدى عقود، بقي الفلسطينيون متصلين ببعضهم البعض من خلال الذاكرة والثقافة والعائلة والشعور المشترك بالانتماء. لكن في عالم يزداد اعتماداً على التكنولوجيا يوماً بعد يوم، أصبح جزء كبير من حضورنا الجماعي قائماً على منصات وأنظمة وبنى تحتية لا نملكها ولا نتحكم بها.
ومع انتقال المزيد من جوانب الحياة إلى الفضاء الرقمي، أصبحت القدرة على المشاركة من خلال هوية رقمية موثوقة أكثر أهمية من أي وقت مضى. فمن دون أساس رقمي مشترك، تتشتت المجتمعات، وتبقى المؤسسات منفصلة عن بعضها، وتجد الأجيال القادمة نفسها أمام أدوات أقل لحفظ هويتها الجماعية وتعزيزها.
لهذا جاءت هويّة. من خلال توفير نظام هوية رقمية موثوق ومستقل، تضع هويّة الأساس الذي يمكّن الفلسطينيين من التواصل مع مجتمعاتهم، والتفاعل مع مؤسساتهم، والوصول إلى الخدمات المستقبلية، والمساهمة في بناء المعرفة الجماعية، والمشاركة في منظومة رقمية فلسطينية متنامية.
الأمر لا يتعلق بالتكنولوجيا فحسب، بل يتعلق بالاستمرارية؛ بضمان امتلاك الفلسطينيين للأدوات التي تمكّنهم من البقاء متصلين ببعضهم البعض أينما كانوا، ومن بناء مستقبل مشترك أكثر ترابطاً وقدرة على الصمود. لأن الهوية في العصر الرقمي ليست مجرد وسيلة لإثبات من نكون، بل هي وسيلتنا للمشاركة، والانتماء، والاستمرار.

Communities are built when people can find one another, connect, collaborate, and trust each other.
Today, Palestinians live across hundreds of cities and dozens of countries around the world. While our communities and institutions possess tremendous knowledge, talent, and potential, much of that potential remains fragmented across disconnected platforms, systems, and databases — making collaboration, coordination, and growth more difficult than it should be.
Hawiya seeks to help address this challenge by providing a shared digital foundation that strengthens the connection between Palestinians and their institutions, communities, villages, cities, and initiatives. The easier it becomes for people and institutions to find and engage with one another, the stronger our communities become.
Over time, Hawiya can help strengthen the relationships between Palestinian institutions themselves, fostering a more vibrant social, economic, and professional ecosystem. It can also provide a foundation for preserving and organizing Palestinian social memory — from families, villages, and cities to institutions, initiatives, and stories that form the fabric of Palestinian society across generations.
At its core, Hawiya is not simply about connecting people to systems. It is about helping reconnect Palestinians to one another — building communities that are more connected, more collaborative, and better equipped to shape their shared future.
لا تُبنى المجتمعات بالصدفة، بل تُبنى عندما يستطيع الناس الوصول إلى بعضهم البعض، والتواصل، والتعاون، والثقة ببعضهم البعض.
اليوم، يعيش الفلسطينيون في مئات المدن وعشرات الدول حول العالم. وبينما تمتلك مجتمعاتنا ومؤسساتنا طاقات هائلة، ما زالت هذه الطاقات موزعة بين منصات وأنظمة وقواعد بيانات منفصلة، مما يجعل التعاون والتنسيق والنمو أكثر صعوبة.

Hawiya is currently being developed in phases. The first phase focuses on establishing the core identity infrastructure and authentication system that will allow Palestinians to create and manage a trusted digital identity.
This initial release is designed to serve as the foundation upon which future capabilities can be built, providing secure authentication and identity services for Digital Palestine and other participating Palestinian initiatives.
Future phases will expand Hawiya beyond authentication, introducing additional identity, verification, trust, and community capabilities that strengthen the broader Palestinian digital ecosystem.
Our approach is deliberate. Rather than attempting to build everything at once, we are focused on building a secure, resilient, and trusted foundation first. As Hawiya grows, updates on development progress, milestones, partnerships, and new capabilities will be shared here.
We are building for the long term. And this is only the beginning.
يجري تطوير هويّة على مراحل مدروسة ومتتالية. تركّز المرحلة الأولى على بناء البنية الأساسية للهوية الرقمية ونظام المصادقة الذي سيتيح للفلسطينيين إنشاء وإدارة هوية رقمية موثوقة وآمنة.
وقد صُممت هذه المرحلة لتكون الأساس الذي ستُبنى عليه المراحل اللاحقة، من خلال توفير خدمات الهوية والمصادقة اللازمة لفلسطين الرقمية والمبادرات والمؤسسات الفلسطينية التي ستنضم إلى المنظومة مستقبلاً.
ومع تطور هويّة، ستتوسع قدراتها تدريجياً لتتجاوز المصادقة الرقمية، وتشمل خدمات إضافية مرتبطة بالهوية، والتحقق، والثقة الرقمية، وربط المجتمعات والمؤسسات ضمن منظومة فلسطينية رقمية أكثر ترابطاً.
